A very particular attention will be paid to transparency and accountability in all activities and at all levels of the Spes Bona Initiative. This encompasses:
- A transparent selection process : Selection Committee Composition and Selection Criteria will be made publicly available and communicated to sponsors, candidates and universities.
- Close monitoring of the recipients’ use of the scholarship funds through submission of quarterly financial reports.
- Complete financial transparency : Publication by both South African and Belgian SBIME associations of detailed financial data controlled by an independent external body (auditor, IEC or IPCF certified accountant).
